Northwest Ohio is in the midst of some pretty nasty flooding along it’s rivers. The 2-3″ of snow that melted during 2 days of heavy rain culminated in swollen creeks, streams and rivers. It’s been worse along the Maumee River in the past, but this is still pretty bad.
I live in a rural area and in the 5+ years I’ve lived in my house I’ve not seen the amount of ponding water in yards and farm fields that I’ve seen in the last couple days. There’s just nowhere for the water to go. The ditches and creeks are all backed up cause the rivers are running above capacity. I visited Waterville, snapped some pictures and took some video.

Hey coach, we’re just watering the field real good for the games this spring.

This is the famous Waterville Interurban Bridge with the famous Roche de Boeuf rock in front.

Here’s a close-up of the rock. For a view of how it normally looks for the majority of the year click here.

And finally, some video from the Waterville bridge. This river is insanely wide right now and running fast. It’s usually about half the width that is shown in this video.

OK, did you have to stop filming because the department of homeland security thought you might be a threat ( a terrorist perhaps?) (just kidding)
Secondly, will this finally get the water levels up in lake erie? My mega yacht just barely fit in the slips at the TYC last year for cryin out loud!!!

I stopped filming cause I was gettin’ a little chilly. Plus I must not have much fear of heights, I’d rather be on that bridge when the river is really, really low than be standing on it like I was today when the water seems like it’s just a few feet away.
Mega yacht? planning to float to Hawaii?

wow i fish that are all the time right below Roche de Boeuf. During the summer you can walk all the way across the river. This happens every sapring right after the ice melt the river floods. This year was worse because he had more snow.
